SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA): A tragic rollover crash on Interstate 20 West has claimed the life of Tremaine Jones, 33, early Friday morning near the Linwood Avenue exit. The incident has left the Shreveport community mourning yet another devastating roadway loss.
According to the Caddo Parish Coroner’s Office, the single-vehicle wreck occurred around 2:29 a.m. on the I-20 westbound off-ramp at Linwood and Pierre Avenue. Jones was driving a light blue Chevy Blazer when the vehicle left the roadway, rolled over, and struck a large concrete bridge column.
Investigation Into Linwood Avenue Crash
Shreveport Police and Fire departments responded swiftly to the scene. Firefighters used the jaws of life to extract Jones from the wreckage, but he was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities confirmed he was positively identified using his ID, and toxicology testing has been ordered as part of standard procedure.
Police say Jones was headed home from a local casino when he encountered a section of the off-ramp still covered in ice. His vehicle lost control, flipped, and collided with the bridge column. The crash remains under active investigation and marks the fourth deadly wreck in Shreveport in 2026.
