CRANS-MONTANA: American alpine skiing legend Lindsey Vonn insists her “Olympic dream is not over” after being airlifted to hospital following a dramatic crash during the FIS Alpine Ski World Cup downhill in Switzerland.
The downhill race was ultimately cancelled due to adverse conditions after Vonn became the third skier to crash on the course. She lost control after landing a jump and collided heavily with the safety netting.
Olympic Dream Still Alive
Vonn later confirmed she had injured her left knee but remained optimistic, saying she is consulting closely with doctors and her team while undergoing further examinations just days before the Winter Olympics.
The Winter Olympics begin in Milan-Cortina on February 6, with the downhill event scheduled for February 8. Despite the setback, Vonn remains determined, stating: “It’s not over until it’s over.”
