BATON ROUGE, LA: Quinton Dixon, a guidance counselor at Westdale Middle School, was found dead Wednesday at the vacant campus of Glen Oaks Middle School, according to officials from the East Baton Rouge Parish Coroner’s Office.
Authorities confirmed that Dixon, 44, died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The incident occurred outdoors at the largely demolished Glen Oaks Middle School campus located at 5200 Monarch Avenue. No additional individuals were involved.
The discovery came one day after Baton Rouge Police issued an arrest warrant for Dixon on four felony counts of indecent behavior with juveniles.
School District & Community Response
Dixon had been placed on leave earlier this month after the East Baton Rouge Parish school system received a series of alleged inappropriate messages sent to a 14-year-old former student. The district has stated it is cooperating fully with authorities.
Authorities emphasized that there is no ongoing threat to the public. The investigation remains active as officials continue reviewing circumstances surrounding the case.
