Dr. Smith was a certified nurse midwife with a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree who worked at Prisma Health Greenville Midwifery Care in South Carolina. Despite her extensive medical training and deep knowledge of maternal health risks, she died from childbirth-related complications.
