5-year-old dies after being hit by car in front yard on New Year’s Eve, coroner says

A family in South Carolina is grieving the loss of a child who was hit and killed by a car on New Year's Eve.

According to the Aiken County Coroner's Office, a 5-year-old child was killed after being struck by a car on Wednesday evening.

The Aiken County coroner said the girl was in the front yard of a home on Raborn Road when she was hit by a vehicle that was entering the property.

The 5-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said.
