Amber McGee dies in pedestrian train crash on Old Pineville Road

CHARLOTTE — Local News | Updated Today

A pedestrian was struck and killed by a Norfolk Southern train in south Charlotte Friday night, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.

CMPD officers responded to a call involving a train versus a pedestrian in the 5700 block of Old Pineville Road around 7:44 p.m.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found the pedestrian had suffered fatal injuries. The individual was pronounced dead at the location.

Authorities have not released additional details regarding the circumstances leading up to the incident. The investigation remains ongoing.
