CHICAGO (WLS): A man was found shot to death inside a South Side home early Saturday morning, according to Chicago police. The shooting is believed to be the first known homicide of 2026 in the city.
Police said a 51-year-old man was found unresponsive inside a residence in the 6700-block of South Jeffery Boulevard just before 9:30 a.m. The victim had sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Teen Killed, Man Wounded in Cicero Shooting
In a separate incident, two teens met Wednesday afternoon in the 1300 block of South 58th Avenue to conduct a transaction, police said. When an attempted robbery occurred, gunfire was exchanged. One teen was killed, and another individual was wounded.
Authorities continue to investigate both incidents. No additional suspects have been announced. Police urge anyone with information to come forward as the city confronts another wave of gun violence early in the year.
