JACKSON COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) — A Flat Rock man died Saturday afternoon after his vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree in Jackson County.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) identified the victim as 57-year-old Kenneth D. Evans. Authorities confirmed that Evans was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to ALEA, Evans was driving a Ford Fiesta when the vehicle left the roadway, overturned, and collided with a tree. The crash occurred at approximately 1:50 p.m.

The accident took place on Jackson County Road 95 near the intersection of Jackson County Road 295, roughly two miles south of the Higdon city limits in Jackson County.

ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the fatal crash. No additional details have been released at this time.
