YORK, S.C. (WBTV) — The York County Coroner’s Office has released the identity of a man who was shot and killed over the weekend, according to officials.

Authorities said the shooting occurred late Friday night, Jan. 9, along West Liberty Hill Road in the city of York. Emergency responders arrived at the scene, where the victim was pronounced dead.

The coroner identified the victim as Travis Lowe, a resident of York. Officials confirmed that Lowe died at the scene as a result of gunshot wounds.

As of Tuesday, Jan. 13, investigators stated that the case remains under active investigation. No additional details regarding a suspect or the circumstances surrounding the shooting have been released.
