GEORGIA: A police pursuit involving a suspected impaired driver ended in a serious crash Friday night on Battlefield Parkway, leaving three people injured — including a 2-year-old child — according to state and local authorities.
Authorities identified the suspect as Thomas Lewis, 44, who was allegedly fleeing officers in a Chevrolet Cruze. Officials say Lewis ran a red light near the Sentry Station shopping area before rear-ending a Nissan Armada.
Georgia State Patrol confirmed that two occupants of the Cruze and a toddler riding in the Armada suffered moderate to serious injuries and were transported to the hospital for treatment.

According to the Georgia State Patrol Public Information Office, the pursuit began at approximately 8:09 p.m. when the Catoosa County Sheriff’s Office requested assistance regarding a fleeing Chevrolet Cruze on GA-2.
The investigation remains ongoing as officials continue reviewing evidence related to the pursuit and crash. Charges against Thomas Lewis are pending as authorities await further findings.
