A toddler and their mother were hit by a truck Saturday afternoon in the Trader Joe's parking lot on Willow and Nees Avenues, Clovis Police say
CLOVIS, Calif. (KFSN) — A 5-year-old child and their mother were struck by a truck Saturday afternoon in the Trader Joe's parking lot near Willow and Nees Avenues, according to Clovis Police.
Officers arriving at the scene reported that the child was awake and alert following the incident. Emergency responders transported both the child and the mother to a local hospital for treatment.
The driver involved was identified as 62-year-old Steve Myer of Prather. Police arrested him at the scene on suspicion of driving under the influence and for causing injuries.
(KSEE/KGPE) — Police said they responded to the parking lot just after 2:20 p.m. following reports that a toddler had been struck by a truck near the store entrance.
The Clovis Police Department continues to investigate the incident.
