CUMBERLAND COUNTY, PA: A tragic traffic incident claimed the life of Christopher Alan Righi, a 37-year-old resident of Newville, on Monday evening. Authorities say Righi was struck and killed while attempting to assist with traffic control around a disabled vehicle in North Newton Township.
According to the Cumberland County Coroner’s Office, the incident occurred at approximately 5:41 p.m. in the 300 block of Greenspring Road. Righi was directing traffic around a disabled vehicle when he was struck by an oncoming vehicle. Emergency responders pronounced him dead at the scene.
Ongoing Police Investigation
The Pennsylvania State Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the fatal crash. As of Tuesday, authorities have not released additional details, and no charges have been announced. Officials state the investigation remains active.
