Fletcher Harris Catawba NC Death and Obituary: Bandys High School Goalkeeper Fletcher Harris Dies in Accident
SALISBURY, N.C. — Catawba College announced with profound sadness the death of junior men's soccer goalkeeper Fletcher Harris on Friday, January 16, 2026, following a tragic car accident. He was 20 years old.
A native of Catawba, North Carolina, Harris was a 2023 graduate of Bandys High School and had been a valued member of the Catawba men’s soccer program for three seasons.

Standing 6 feet tall and weighing 190 pounds, Harris wore jersey #45 and saw action in three matches during his sophomore season. He earned his first career save in a dominant victory over Virginia State and competed against nationally ranked programs including Lincoln Memorial and Limestone.
Beyond athletics, Harris was a standout student pursuing a double major in Environmental & Sustainability and Biology. He consistently earned recognition on the Presidential Honor Roll and Dean’s List.

Harris was the son of Mark and Meredith Harris and, though born in Michigan, proudly considered Catawba his hometown. His passing has deeply affected the Catawba County community.
