Raheem Hampton Thomson, Georgia Death and Obituary: Georgia Teen Raheem Hampton Dies After Overnight Shooting

THOMSON, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) — An overnight shooting in Thomson has claimed the life of a 17-year-old, according to local officials.

According to the McDuffie County Coroner, Paul Johnson, the shooting occurred in the 300 block of Walnut Street. When officers arrived, they found 17-year-old Raheem Hampton suffering from a gunshot wound.

Officials say law enforcement received the emergency call just before 10 p.m. Saturday night. Hampton was transported to Doctors Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

A second person involved in the incident was also taken for medical treatment and is reported to have suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. Authorities have not yet released further details regarding suspects or arrests.
