Michael John Biehl, known to many simply as Mike, passed on December 29, 2025
Michael John Biehl, lovingly known as Mike, passed away on December 29, 2025, after a long and successful life. Born on May 27, 1954, Mike was truly one of a kind — a great, caring individual whose generosity and willingness to help others left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.
Mike never hesitated to lend a hand to anyone in need. His kindness, compassion, and selflessness defined the way he lived his life, earning the respect and admiration of family, friends, colleagues, and countless others.
He showed his love through his actions by working hard so his family could thrive, and by offering wisdom and unconditional support. A true fighter in every sense of the word, he faced life’s challenges head-on with resilience and an unwavering spirit.
Through hard work, determination, and vision, he created a legacy that stood as a reflection of the man he was — dependable, dedicated, and driven.
One of Mike’s biggest accomplishments was the rescue and revitalization of UP Paper. He was especially proud not only of what UP Paper became, but of all the individuals who helped bring it to life. He always valued the people behind the success as much as the success itself.
Along with UP Paper, Mike took pride in the many other successful businesses he built and helped grow throughout the years, leaving a lasting mark on many industries and his community.
Mike is survived by his long-term partner, Patty, with whom he shared many years of love and companionship. He leaves behind his children: Jeremy (Sarah), Jason, Sabrina, Andrew (Olivia), Sarah (Chris), and Patty’s daughter, Megan.
He was a proud grandfather to ten grandchildren and a cherished great-grandfather to one great-grandchild, all of whom brought him immense joy.
He is also survived by his siblings: Virginia (Bruce Chaltry), Mary (Fred Prevost), Doug (Kimber), and Michelle (Shawn Slocum). Mike was preceded in death by his beloved parents, William and Helen Biehl, and his siblings Jim, Steven, David, and Daniel.
Mike’s legacy of kindness, strength, hard work, and generosity will live on through his family, his work, his community, and the many lives he touched along the way. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
